About Me

I trained as a psychotherapist because I am passionate about helping children and young people live emotionally healthy lives full of fun and happiness!

I chose to become an ‘integrative’ psychotherapist so that I could use psychological theories from various modalities integrating them with current research and neuroscience - I feel that this approach is best suited to help the complexities of a human being!

I trained at I.A.T.E (Institute of Art in Therapy and Education) because I learnt that when we use the ‘arts’ our unconscious mind feels safe enough to allow us to access our deeply held feelings.

Using ‘arts’ can be used in it’s broadest term; it is about being creative and using materials that uses the right hand side of the brain rather than the left so sessions can include painting, puppets, music, drawing or other creative activities. It doesn’t mean that my clients have to be artistic in any conventional sense.

When we access these deep held feelings we can begin to explore and understand them more which can help us to process and heal some of the difficulties that we carry.

I know that psychotherapy can help children and young people live their lives unburdened by the past pain and discomfort that some of their early lives may have internalised.

I wanted to support parents as well so I trained with Noel Janis-Norton from Calmer Parenting to be a Parenting Coach.   I love the way that her strategies and skills work harmoniously with my work as a psychotherapist and I am so passionate about parents building a family life that is happy and healthy and stress-free!
